We’re kicking off the build with some concept development funding from the Sunshine Coast Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund.

This funding will contribute to s0me proof of concept work including:

  • A small scale CNC cut acrylic hexapod, with three RC servos per leg providing a platform to dabble with walking gaits fabrication
  • Parametric model created using Geomagic Design, allowing experimentation with leg geometries and different kinds of motors. I will also 3D print the model (at soccer ball size)
  • A rough, basic mock up of leg joints at size to test speeds of various motors
  • One functional full scale leg skeleton at proportion with motors and electronics.
