Finally! After years of day dreaming, work on Bubble Machine III has begun.
We’re kicking off the build with some concept development funding from the Sunshine Coast Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund.
This funding will contribute to s0me proof of concept work including:
- A small scale CNC cut acrylic hexapod, with three RC servos per leg providing a platform to dabble with walking gaits fabrication
- Parametric model created using Geomagic Design, allowing experimentation with leg geometries and different kinds of motors. I will also 3D print the model (at soccer ball size)
- A rough, basic mock up of leg joints at size to test speeds of various motors
- One functional full scale leg skeleton at proportion with motors and electronics.
