The first of my Bubble Machines, BMI was produced in six weeks specifically for the 1996 Brisbane Festival Street Parade. After the Bubble Machine’s initial and successful performance in the Brisbane Festival, it was exhibited at Gallery 482, South Bank’s Festival of Lights Christmas Parade and LIVID.
Built entirely out of discarded electric wheelchair parts, BMI was very busy and surprisingly reliable. Interestingly it was the plastic sphere (the only new component) that was first to go, forcing BMI into an early retirement.
